Sophomore Year 2016/2017

I soon became familiar with Kansas, my new teammates, coaches and academic schedule. I played in several tournaments in my first year as a Jayhawk.

But I did miss my family and beautiful British Columbia and definitely loved coming home for visits to ski in the winter and surf and play golf in the summer!

UNIVERSITY OF KANSAS - Go Jayhawks!

What an adjustment transferring to Kansas was! My parents accompanied me down in August, 2016 to get settled into my new "dorm room". It was pretty fancy compared to Idaho - a two-bedroom apartment really. Dan Sutton, my former teammate from Idaho, transferred to Kansas with me so it was great having a friend as my roommate - we could figure this place out together.

My new bag was waiting for me!

UNIVERSITY OF IDAHO - GO VANDALS!

My freshman year at Idaho was very memorable with lots of ups and a few downs. It wasn't as easy as I thought adjusting to college life. I definitely had to learn better discipline and self-motivation.But all in all, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Coach Means and my team mates were great and I loved spending time with them, on and off the golf course! I played a lot of golf and did quite well. I even was awarded "Athlete of the Week" shortly after my arrival in Idaho.

The team did great! We travelled all over the U.S. and although it was hard work, trying to keep up with school work, train and travel, it was worth it.

And with all the hard work, the Idaho Vandals won, for the second consecutive season, the Big Sky Golf Championship in Boulder City, Nevada! What a way to end the season.

I'll always cherish my time at Idaho and my freshman year, but for various reasons, including the resignation of my Coach and mentor, John Means, I found myself looking into the possibility of playing for another university. The University of Kansas was my first choice, and I was fortunate enough to transfer there for my Sophomore year.

HEY EVERYBODY! I'M BACK!

Haven't posted for awhile so there is a lot to update you all on.
Where to start . . .

Well, obviously I finished out my 2014 season with lots of great highlights. I did quite well in many local tournaments, finished T7 in the BC Junior Championship at Meadow Gardens, then travelled to Niagra Falls, Ontario to play in the Canadian Junior Championship, where unfortunately I didn't make the cut. But all in all 2014 was good, the highlight being that I signed my National Letter of Intent in November to play university golf with the University of Idaho.

I was very excited to play for Idaho as I had done a lot of research and discovered that their program was growing and developing at an extremely fast pace due to the excellent coaching experience of John Means. I was very happy to be playing for him.

2015 Season
Prior to commencing my studies at the University of Idaho, I had a very memorable summer. I played in many tournaments, including the Canadian Junior Championship in Quebec where I placed T16; travelling to Scotland to play in the Euro Cup as a member of the Canadian Junior Golf Association;

and winning the BC Junior Championship in Osoyoos, BC where I finished with a four-day score of -13, breaking the course record on day three with a score of 63 - nine under par!

Spring - Where are You?

Well, my first tournament of the year is over and what a crazy weekend of torrential rain and wind! The first day of play was cancelled (I had managed to get 9 holes in) due to the stormy weather. Day two wasn't much better, but at least the wind died down. Played well and shot an even par 72. The second day we moved to the Vancouver Golf Club where the sun was actually shining for part of the day. Didn't play as well, but enjoyed the course. Shot a 77 and finished T4. I have a week off now to work on a few things and then on to University Golf Course on March 29/30.

2014 Season - Here I Come!

Well, tomorrow is the first day of the new season! Playing my first tournament of the year - MJT at Meadow Gardens and Vancouver. The weather is supposed to suck this weekend - lot's of rain - but I'm not going to let that get in my way. This is a big year for me with my University career in the very near future, so I'm aiming for big things!

BC Juvenile Championship

Played a pretty good tournament and placed T12. No huge blow-ups, but putting was definitely my weakness. Make some great long putts, but missed way too many short ones! Guess what I'll be working on this winter????
